Other Playing RBO with a friend?

So my friend got Ragarnok Battle Offline(RBO) for his computer and I was wondering if there is any way for me to play with him?

I have thought about screen-sharing through skype but then I wouldn't be able to control or press any keys.
The online project for RBO is very glitchy and is unplayable. Lan wouldn't work either since he lives in another state. Are there any other solutions?
