Politics: Gutted Stock Act (Political insider trading)

A year ago Obama passed a bill in response to occupy wall street, to help limit political corruption. Well guess what, that two-face-turn-coat-sack-of-supposedly-progressive-president signed a bill on friday 04/12/13 that totally guts the stock act (largely by making it virtually unenforceable).
Quote:

The law wouldn't just outlaw trading on nonpublic information by members of Congress, the executive branch and their staffs. It would greatly expand financial disclosures and make all of the data searchable so insider trading and conflicts of interest would be easier to detect.

It's All Politics
Insider-Trading Ban Passes Congress, But Some See Missed Opportunity
But on Monday, when the president signed a bill reversing big pieces of the law, the emailed announcement was one sentence long. There was no fanfare last week either, when the Senate and then the House passed the bill in largely empty chambers using a fast-track procedure known as unanimous consent.
Normally passing a bill in Congress takes awhile...but these guys did it in 31 seconds. Ya, that's right, SECONDS. This is nuts. There is supposed to be checks and balances in Washington, that's why we have the 3 branches of government.
Quote:

"It's really shocking that they used basically the situation of questions about whether some language in the bill was overbroad to just gut the bill — to gut the transparency measures that apply to themselves,"
But there's no one to call out the executive and legislative branches for blatant corruption. Sure the judicial might help...if they weren't up for election by the other two branches of government. Well good to see congress can act fast when it involves them getting paid and screwing the public.

Man I wish I didn't vote for Obama or any of the other assholes who didn't fight this. At least the other side of the isle is more obvious about their corruption. Anywho thought y'all would like to know...since almost none of the news agencies are talking about it...
